MARA Excitement

I awoke this morning to 5 billion stars in the sky and set out at 5:15 for our morning game drive.  The real first clear morning set up some beautiful shots before and during the sunrise.

We went in search of animals and came first across a herd of elephant peacefully coexisting with 2 female and one male lion.  The lions soon chased away the elephants and then the fun began.

Two more males lions made there way up  the knoll and natural selection began to unfold before our eyes.  The prettier of the two females prevented a scuffle between the males and set out with the larger more dominant male.

On the way back to a wonderful breakfast on the Mara River, spotted some splendid cranes in a tree. Enjoyed breakfast and set out for another drive.

The after breakfast drive was just as exciting as our faithful driver Nelson went in search of some cheetahs which he found expertly. On our way back to the tents for lunch we stumbled upon another leopard, very rare to see, up in a tree with its kill.

The lunch was very tasty and I cant believe I ate the whole thing!
